A New Approach to Member Tournaments
Why play in golf tournaments? Reason number one is to put your game to a social and physical test. Golfers can become better mental players and/or better physical players obviously. One sector often overlooked is that tournament play can make you a better social player as well. The ultimate goals of a round of golf are to play well and have fun. Learning to become a better social player is learning to have more fun. Our events are focused on testing your skills and having fun with our ever-changing formats.
The member tournament series at Riverwood Golf and Athletic Club is anything but typical. We offer a few staple events like the Member-Member, Member-Guest and the Match Play Tournament. Our talented golf staff makes sure each tournament stands out.
Each staff member has played the game at a very high competition level and enjoys establishing exciting, new tournament formats.
This year, we have the Par 3 Tournament, the Tip and Tuck and our Major Championship Series. In the Par 3 Tournament, all 18 tee boxes are moved to a new place and the hole is played as a par three.
The Tip and Tuck is set up by the golf staff so that the tees are all the way in the back and the pins are tucked in places that are hard to get to—and even more difficult to putt at. This way, the golf course plays as difficult as possible.
This year, we’re also introducing the Major Championship Series, which pairs each player with a PGA Tour star and is played in conjunction with golf’s four major championships.
Our member tournament schedule is filled with fun, food and creativity. So come join us, we’ve got an event to please everyone!
